Most homeowners are surprised by which factors move the number and which barely matter. Tap any item to see what we look at when pricing a job:
Linear feet
The single biggest driver. Longer runs cost more overall but often less per foot, since setup and mobilization get spread further.
Material
Pressure-treated pine is the budget option. Cedar costs more up front and lasts longer. Chain link is generally cheapest per foot. Aluminum and composite sit at the higher end, and buy you decades of not maintaining anything.
Height
A 6' privacy fence uses noticeably more material than a 4' fence, and taller fences need deeper posts and heavier hardware.
Gates
Gates cost several times what an equivalent stretch of fence costs. They need framing, hinges, latches, and precise hanging. A drive gate costs more than a walk gate. If you're comparing bids, check how many gates each one includes.
Terrain and access
Slopes, rock, tree roots, and tight backyard access all add labor. Northwest Arkansas has plenty of rock, and hitting it changes how post holes get dug.
Posts
Standard wood posts are included. Steel posts like PostMaster® cost more and dramatically extend the life of a wood fence by removing the part that rots first.
Tear-out
Removing and hauling off an old fence is real labor and real dump fees.

Is the calculator's number a quote?

Do you offer financing?

Why do 4 ft and 6 ft fences cost the same?
4 ft pickets aren't stocked everywhere, and when they are they usually cost more. Building a 4 ft fence from 6 ft pickets means cutting every one, which adds labor. The two heights land at the same price per foot.
How long does installation take?
Most residential fences go up in one to three days once materials are on site. Larger or custom jobs take longer, and we'll tell you the schedule before you commit.
