WHO WE ARE
Don't Rely On Luck. Trust Your Neighbor.
Kismet Fence is a locally owned Licensed Contractor, No. 0446811126. Our shop is in Farmington, about 31 miles and 34 minutes from Little Flock.
Little Flock is a Benton County city of about 3,100 people, about two miles north of Rogers. Its code is short on fence rules. It sets no fence height and allows fences in any yard, as long as they do not block visibility.
What it does require is a building permit for any structure, which takes in a fence, and it will not let a pool be filled until its fence is built to code. We handle both.
A Little Flock fence starts with a building permit. The code requires one before any structure is built, and a fence counts.
We pull the permit, and then we build past what the permit asks for, starting with deeper post holes.
Wood gates are built on a metal frame and hung from metal posts, so they keep their shape.
Our workmanship is warrantied for the lifetime of the fence.

CUSTOM WOOD & PRIVACY FENCES
Little Flock’s code sets no fence height of its own, so a six-foot privacy fence is allowed. It does need a building permit, like any structure, and we pull it for you.
Any yard: fences, walls and posts are allowed in any yard, the front included, as long as they do not block visibility.
Corners: the sight triangle runs 25 feet along each right-of-way from the intersection, and we keep corner fences out of it.
Covenants: a subdivision can set a height the city does not. We read yours before we quote.
Styles: side-by-side, shadowbox, board-on-board or horizontal, in pressure-treated pine or cedar.
Posts and gates: metal gate frames and metal gate posts, with PostMaster steel posts as an option.
See our cedar fences, pressure-treated pine fences, horizontal fences and steel post upgrade.
ORNAMENTAL STEEL & ALUMINUM
Little Flock allows a fence in the front yard, but not one that blocks visibility. A see-through metal fence fits the front of a lot and the corner triangle better than a solid one.
Pools: Little Flock will not let a pool be filled until its fence is built to code, so the pool fence goes in before the water does.
Styles: flat top, puppy picket and extended picket aluminum, and black welded steel.
Permit: a metal fence is a structure under the code, so it goes on a building permit like any other.

RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL CHAIN LINK FENCES
Chain link is the low-cost fence for a Little Flock yard or dog run. It needs the same building permit as any other fence, and we pull it.
Residential: galvanized mesh, or black vinyl-coated mesh for a quieter look.
Commercial: commercial-weight mesh with slats or security options.
Pools: a pool has to be fenced before it is filled, and chain link pool barriers use 1-1/4-inch mesh.
VINYL & COMPOSITE
With no height limit in the code, a vinyl or composite fence in Little Flock is shaped by your covenants, the corner triangle and the building permit.
Vinyl: solid white or tan privacy panels.
Composite: TimberTech, FenceTrac, SimTek and Trex.
Fines: a fence built without the permit can be fined up to $25 a day once the city gives written notice, so we do not skip it.

FARM & RANCH FENCES
Little Flock’s Residential Estates district allows small livestock at no more than one head per acre, as long as the animals are properly fenced in. In the A-1 agricultural district, raising and pasturing livestock is a permitted use.
What we build: woven field fence, no-climb horse fence, high-tensile wire, welded pipe and livestock panels.
Barns and corrals: stables, barnyards and corrals are allowed in Residential Estates for family use. We count the acres before we lay out the fence.
GATE AUTOMATION
A gate is part of the fence, so in Little Flock it goes on the same building permit.
Gate types: walk gates, estate swing gates, slide gates and cantilever gates.
Openers: solar or hard-wired openers, with keypad, remote and phone control.
Corners: a drive gate near an intersection stays out of the 25-foot sight triangle.

Little Flock Fence Rules Code & Permit Guide
Little Flock’s code is short on fence rules, but the ones it has matter: a building permit for any structure, a fence before any pool is filled and clear corners. This is what the code says, and where it came from.
City HallFences need a building permit here. City Hall, (479) 636-2081.
Permits
Little Flock’s code requires a building permit for a fence.
Do I need a permit for a fence?
Plan on one. Little Flock’s zoning code requires a building permit before any structure is built, except portable buildings under 144 square feet, and it defines a structure as anything constructed with a fixed location on the ground. That takes in a fence (Sec. 14.04.07 and 14.04.08). When a fence needs a permit, we pull it for you.
Who issues it?
City Hall, 1500 Little Flock Dr., (479) 636-2081, weekdays 8 to 4.
What happens if a fence goes up without one?
A notice, then fines. The city notifies the person responsible in writing, and a violation that is not corrected can be fined up to $25 a day (Sec. 14.04.06).
How Tall Can My Fence Be?
Little Flock’s code does not set a number.
Is there a height limit?
Not in the zoning code. It allows fences in any yard, subject to its limits on blocking visibility (Sec. 14.04.07). Subdivision covenants can set a height the city does not, so we read yours before we quote.
Can a fence go in my front yard?
Yes. The code allows fences, walls and posts in any yard, the front included, as long as they do not block visibility.
Corner Lots
Corners are the one place the code limits what can stand.
What about corner lots?
Keep the sight triangle clear. Little Flock’s sign rules define the corner sight triangle as 25 feet along each right-of-way from the intersection and bar signs and structures between 30 and 60 inches tall inside it (Sec. 14.12.07). The yard rules also make fences subject to limits on blocking visibility, so we keep corner fences out of that triangle.
Pools
Little Flock will not let a pool be filled until its fence is built.
Does a pool need a permit and a fence?
Both, in that order. Building a pool takes a building permit, and no pool can be filled with water before a fence has been built to ICC code standards, as confirmed by the city’s Enforcement Officer (Sec. 14.04.08).
How tall does a pool fence have to be?
48 inches, measured on the outside of the fence, and that height has to hold for 3 feet out from the fence so nothing outside becomes a step up.
How big can the gaps be?
Smaller than a 4-inch ball. No opening may let a 4-inch sphere through, and the gap under the fence can be no more than 2 inches over grass or gravel, or 4 inches over concrete.
Can I use chain link around a pool?
Only small mesh. Chain link openings can be no larger than 1-3/4 inches, so standard 2-inch mesh does not qualify. We use 1-1/4-inch pool mesh.
Does it matter which side the rails are on?
Yes. If the tops of the horizontal rails are less than 45 inches apart, the rails go on the pool side and pickets can be no more than 1-3/4 inches apart. With rails 45 inches or more apart, pickets can be up to 4 inches apart.
What does the gate need?
Self-closing and self-latching. It must open away from the pool and take a lock, with the latch release at least 54 inches up unless the release is on the pool side. On a double gate, one leaf stays secured in place.
Animals And Livestock
How many animals a fence has to hold depends on the district.
Can I keep livestock?
In the right district. In Residential Estates, small livestock are allowed at no more than one head per acre of cows, horses, sheep, goats, pigs or similar animals, for family use and not commercial, as long as they are properly fenced in or otherwise confined. In the A-1 agricultural district, raising and pasturing livestock is a permitted use (Sec. 14.04.03).
What about barns and corrals?
Allowed in Residential Estates on the same family-use basis: stables, barnyards and corrals.
